A Confession About Windows 8

Nov 20 2012

In the beginning there was darkness. Then there was monochrome colors. Then came solid VGA colors, XVGA colors, gradients, semi transparent gradients and crystal effects. Stop!! Now there's those 90s solid colors again. 2D boxes with sharp edges. It even makes windows 95 look hotter again.

Today I would like to share why I despise Windows 8.

One don't need to be a scientist to discover that losing your eye's navigation over the screen when clicking a button is not very convenient or user friendly. Oh I forgot, there is not even a button for it. There's secret hidden clickable mousearea which makes it very annoying to remote control. Goodbye RDP and VMWare.

Why still use the name Windows, when windows is a plural word indicating more than one, and this system target single full screen applications. That's singular window. I know Microsoft had a research project named Singularity. What a great name that would have been for Windows 8.

Microsoft apologized for not listening to the consumers after admitting the Vista sales were terrible. Well, that was after they first banned all XP sales trying to leave Vista as the only option available, which failed of course no one still wanted Vista. So they listened to the consumers and created Windows 7, loved by the users until now. Who did Microsoft listen to this time?

XP had a very long life cycle. While Windows 7 still is just the child it is being pushed out already. Future software such as Internet Explorer 10, Windows Media Player 13, DirectX 11 is not compatible with Windows 7. That cheap trick "Oh you gotta buy the latest to get the all the new".

Oh, and for those who are gonna stick with Windows 7, don't think Microsoft will not mess with you. Microsoft is already working on a patch to remove sidebar gadget functionality in Windows 7. I like my gadgets, hands off Microsoft!

I don't despise Windows 8 for what is is, I despise it for what it is not. It's like everything awarded in Windows 7 is thrown out the window.

Hasta la vista Windows seven.
